 The Department of Medical Surgical Nursing of Dr. Hedgewar college of Nursing, Aurangabad was  celebrated world AIDS day 2023. The theme of world AIDS day 2023 was “Let communities lead”. On this occasion student of 3^rd year GNM has given health talk and exhibited the poster on the said theme. Principal and teaching faculties were present for the celebration. People visited the exhibition and clear their doubts. It was an interactive and informative.

                     The department of medical surgical nursing, Dr. Hedgewar college of nursing, Aurangabad. organized a Guest Lecture on “ Basic cardiac awareness and cardiac emergency ” and a  Session regarding “World Heart Day.

   The session begins with the poster Exhibitions by 1^st MSc, 3^rd B.sc, 3^rd semester, 2^nd GNM, students, Dr. Hedgewar College of Nursing, Aurangabad. Poster was  Evaluated by Prof Shreenath  Kulkarni Principal and   Dr. Mahesh Deshpande ( HOD of Cardiology Department, Dr. Hedgewar Hospital, Aurangabad. The student were actively involved presented their poster.

                  The session Second started with the welcome address by Dr. Aparna  Wykar , Dr. Hedgewar Hospital, Aurangabad. It is  followed by felicitation of Chef guest, CEO Dr. Raatnaparkhe Rajeshree  , Dr. Renu Chavan , Dr. shetkar, and Guest Speaker Dr. Mahesh Deshpande ( HOD of Cardiology Department, Dr. Hedgewar Hospital, Aurangabad. These guest was Felicitated  By  Prof Shreenath Kulkarni, Principal of Dr. Hedgewar college of nursing, Aurangabad.  

Dr. Hedgewar college of nursing, Aurangabad. 3^rd semester students performed skit on risk factors and cardiac prevention, was very informative and attractive.

               The fourth session was guest  Lecture  conducted by Dr. Mahesh Deshpande was very informative, Sir discussed various points on awareness and cardiac risk factors and emergency preventive measures   in Medical Surgical  Nursing and also spoke about World Heart Day.

                After the session Sir also interacted with students about their guided students about cardiac emergency and preventive measures, after Discussions Dr. Renu Chavan, continue the Lecture and Demonstration  about Compression –Only life support (COLS), And   performing the Demonstration.  

The student were actively involved and got prices  with their doubts during the session. About 4 PG, 50 UG students, 22 Faculties of DHCN got benefited through this Programme. The Programme came to an end with concluded with vote of thanks by  Prof Shreenath Kulkarni , Principal  of DHCN, Aurangabad

The inaugural function was held on 03/10/2023 in the presence of Chief Guest Honourable Dr.Satish Kulkarni President, Dr. Aswinikumar Tupkari Secreatary,of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Vaidyakiya Pratishthan, Dr.Rajashrre Ratnaparkhi CEO of Dr. Hedgewar hospital,  Dr. Phatak  Madam Trustee Member, Dr. Govind Shinde Professor CSMSS Ayurved College, Prof. Shreenath Kulkarni Principal, Dr.Hedgewar College of Nursing and Dr. Deepmala Deore Professor, CSMSS Dental College. Total  08 Guest Speakers and 50 delegates were present and participate.   They explored guidelines of research methodology, research designs and statistics. Group activities and lecturers carried out as per scheduled during workshop. Pre and post Test were taken First and Last day respectively. All participants acknowledged that this workshop had enhanced their knowledge regarding Research Methodology.  Overall impact of this workshop was good and Thought Provoking for all participants.

The Department of Mental Health Nursing and Dr. Hedgewar College of Nursing organized a Guest Lecture on "World Mental Health Day - 2023" on 10.10.2023 at 3.00 P.M at Damu Anna Date Hall.

The Programme was started with the welcome address by Mr.Amol M. Ramteke, Professor, Department of Mental Health Nursing, Dr. Hedgewar CON. The formal inauguration  was carried out by Chief Guesst Dr. Nikhil Khedkar  & Prof. Shreenath Kulkarni Principal Dr.Hedgewar College of Nursing.

The guest lecture was given by Dr. Nikhil Khedkar, Consultant Senior Psychiatrist of Shanti Nursing Home Aurangabad. He spoke about an Overview of Mental Health; A universal Human Right. Further he explained about the relationship between Physical and Mental Health.        He spoke about preventive steps and enjoying the Journey of Life. The last session was dealt with by Prof. Shreenath Kulkarni Principal  Dr. Hedgewar CON on  Mental Hygiene which includes all  measures taken to promote and preserve ones Mental health in society and community.

The student was actively involved and clarified their doubts during the session. About 50 3^rd B.Sc. Nursing Students and 37 2^nd year GNM students, 20 Faculties of DHCN benefited from this Programme.The Programme came to an end with a vote of Thanks by 4.15 P.M

The additional activities carried out by Third B.Sc Nursing students Poster exhibition which was displayed about Awareness of Mental Health and Illness in Premises OPD of Dr. Hedgewar Hospital Aurangabad. Students gave information with the help of Posters about Mental illness and Prevention. About 155 Patients and their relatives got information by the Exhibition; They also asked several doubts about Mental illness and students clarified with Proper coping strategies to overcome with mental Disorders.

Departmental Teaching Staff and Students were appreciated by for their efforts and activities carried out in Today’s Event.

On account of 25th Foundation Day of MUHS Nashik Dr Hedgewar College of Nursing was celebrated on 10th June 2023. We have hoisted a MUHS flag in presence of Prof. Shrinath Kulkarni, Principal college of Nursing along wiht teaching, non teaching faculty, Hospital staff and students from all B.Sc Nursing batch attended this programme. Principal Sir addressed the assembly and given speech regarding MUHS foundation day.
